Subject: Load sysex program patches from Alesis Datadisk?

Hello

I'm new to the group; thank you for letting me join!

I acquired a Chroma Polaris about 2 years ago, and probably got the best price per condition possible - a cherry unit for free.

I was out picking trash (twice a year we have Bulk Pickup, or some people call it Riff Raff days, where people throw out things normally too big for the weekly garbage) and saw a familiar size and shape soft case. Went over to pick it up, thinking it may empty, but quickly realized it was not. Don't have to detail how much these bricks weigh to this group.

I was beyond excited, even though I did not recognize the keyboard. It was just in perfect cosmetic condition. Got it home and got more excited as all the lights came on, and all the switches responded as new with a whole range of brilliant sounds.

My budding pianist son was curious, so I gave it to him to play with. And play he did. He wrote over some of the factory programs with sounds of his own, which I did not thing anything of at the time.

I also have an old Korg M1 and an Alesis Datadisk, and I've loaded many different sysex files and patch banks onto it from the internet, so I still don't think it's too big a deal.

Anyone have experience loading patch banks from the internet, or sysex files to reset patch banks to factory default?

The Datadisk is floppy based file storage, with a Midi in and out, and is capable of bulk data dumps both ways and also live streaming data feeds in and out. Pretty cool unit, and is handy for older keyboards that don't have any other standard media ports, at least by today's standards.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, and thanks again for letting me join the group!
