Subject: Membrane panel connectors to circuit boards Trio-Mate

Hello,
I recently restored my Polaris using the new membrane panels from Paul. I had pretty beaten-up connectors from previous attempts at fixing my broken panel connections. I decided if I was going to put in new membrane panels I would change the ribbon connectors on the circuit boards. Paul told me the black rectangular connectors are called Trio-Mate.
Trio-Mate connectors are made by Tyco Electronic. On the Tyco website, they list which companies have the connectors in stock. The Polaris uses a 10 position and a 5 position connector on the left side circuit board and a 10 position and a 7 position connector on the right side board. The Trio-Mate connectors used in the Polaris are the 90 degree pins that are Z- bend legs.
I bought mine from onlinecomponents.com. The part numbers are:
6-520314-0 for the 10 position.
5-520314-7 for the 7 position
5-520314-5 for the 5 position.
You just clip the old ones off, desolder the pins, clear the holes and then solder in the new Trio-Mates. Your new membrane panel ribbons will slide in smooth and stay in snug.
I hope this helps anyone looking for the connectors.
Brett
