here are some more a188/1 bbd prototype examples,
this time using an 128 stages ic (mn3006).
the first two examples are basically the same
as in some of the former posts.
vco -> vca -> bbd -> out
vco -> vca -> bbd -> vcf -> out
the vco is an a110, playing the same 16 note sequence as usual.
the vca is an a131, controlled by an a143/2 adsr envelope.
1.
the a110 waveform is triangle. a 16 step sequence modulates
the delay time (the same sequence as in the former examples).
first you hear the pure bbd output, then a 48 db lowpass-filtered
version (a108) without the clock-noise.

the next one is a flanger effect.
the a110 waveform is sawtooth. an a147 lfo (triangle)
modulates the delay time. you hear the pure bbd-output,
a clock filter is not necessary because of the very
high clock frequencies used in this example.

now a bbd in self-oscillation. there is nothing patched
into the input of the bbd. a 16 step sequence modulates
the delay time (still the same sequence ;-)).
you hear a 48 db lowpass-filtered version (a108).

now some karplus-strong examples.
the first one looks like this:
noise -> vca -> bbd -> out
the noise is coming from an a117.
the vca is an a131, controlled by an a143/2 adsr envelope.
the a143/2 is set to the shortest envelope possible.
attack and decay times are varied during recording.
the pitch cv from the above examples now modulates the
delay time. you hear the pure bbd output without filtering.

same as above, but now the 2osc output of the a117 is used
instead of the noise output.

more sound variations can be obtained by modulating
the sound source before it is fed into the vca.
in this example the a117 noise output is used
together with an a196 pll.
noise -> pll -> vca -> bbd -> out
the adsr envelope is set to a fixed length.
the pll offset knob is turned from 0 to 10
during recording. sounds a bit like sweeping
a bandpass filter, but it's indeed the
pure bbd output.

i really like this one. the pll in the above example
is now replaced by an a127 triple bandpass filter.
