Hi all,
I'm not so into the obscure stuff, so here are my rather more pedestrian
suggestions (in order of interest to me):
(1) An additive oscillator: 32 partials, with a volume value for each. I
see it as only having a few principal controls: 5 leds (binary) to show the
partial currently being edited and a volume control. A 2 digit led display
would be nice, but not necessary: the volume control could be an endless
rotary. It should have pitch and fm cv ins but what would really be amazing
if it also had a partial select cv in together with a volume cv in (the cv
would affect only the volume of the currently selected partial). This could
make for absolutely crazy timbral variations. But even if used straight it
could be a nice source of gritty digital waves (like in the OSCar).
(2) A DAHDSR envelope with adjustable shapes (preferably CV adjustable from
log/exp to lin) for each slope. This would allow envelopes to be produced
from a moogy blip through a roland bonk to a korgy blatt :)
(3) More distortion modules. There are 1000000s of different guitar pedals
offering various forms of distortion. I can't believe they're all the same
:)
(4) A clocking module with a BPM counter on it (with 1 or 2 places after the
decimal). There should, at least, be a tap tempo button as well as a clock
input (the counter would then show the BPM of the incoming clocks). Not
necessarily more complex than that, though.
For power reasons, I don't suppose it's possible to have vacuum tube-based
modules, is it
I have one more idea, but I need to think about it a bit more.
rgds
Pierre
