Basically, the article states that by using 2 subaudio tuned VCOs
together, you can create clock signals for various rhythms. That is,
each step can be precisely timed by the tuning ratio of the 2
oscillators. For example, a 3/2 tuning ratio would yield a triple/
double polyrhythm. I realize this isn't a great explanation, but the
article goes into a lot more detail...
