Daniel,
that's normal and has nothing to do with the battery. In play mode always
the complete memory is played back. If you do not record the complete memory
then there will occur the rest of previous sample behind the position where
the recording has been stopped. To avoid this I'd recommend to clear the
complete memory before you record a new sample (i.e. record without a sound
or level control fully CCW) or to use the complete memory for a new sample.
