Which Wells book is better, the 1974 edition written with Eric Vogel or the 1981 edition with no co-author

IMO the Strange book seems more like an analog synth beginner's book
and many may outgrow it rather quickly. My favorite is "The
Technique of Electronic Music" by Thomas Wells.
