I've looked through the various yahoo groups forums and this
seems to be the place to be when you are going modular.
My plans:
I'd like to get a modular synth to use in my home recording
environment and so I've been looking around and at this year's
musikmesse I walked by the great superbooth and had the time
to listen to the doepfer as well as the technosaurus and the
analogue solutions...
In terms of money the technosaurus is out of question, leaves
the choice between the doepfer and the A/So. As far as I could
figure out (always difficult/impossible @ the tradeshowfloor) the
doepfer's sound is more 'pristine' , than the A/Solutions which
has more 'liveness' , a different character.
With our project we go in various musically directions combining
d&b,house with jazz and chilling tracks as well.
Emphasis is playing live.
The reason for getting a modular synth is also to add a different
character to our Minimoog and Moog Source (a great synth)
beside using it as standalone synthesizer.
Here py plans - any coments more than welcome...
What I'll be starting off with will be the doepfer A127 ,A125 - the
AS SY02, the EG02,VCO 02,SY02 from A/Solutions.
I'm not sure which LFO to get - I'd like to have control over the
dutycycle of the wave to be able to generate pulses as well.
The A/Solutions WCO-WT seems interesting too - anyone of you
owns this module
I need MIDI - Anyone experiences with the doepfer 191in live
environment Is this the thing to get
What do I have to take care of when combining these modules in
one case
Thanks for your thoughts...
