I just purchased an A-113 Subharmonic Generator used from Analogue Haven. I didn't run
methodical tests on it yet. One of the first things I've noticed is works fine for only about 3
midrange octaves of square input. Above or below it doesn't deliver suboctaves. It also
seems to give up on vibrato. I just wanted to confirm if that's normal since I found it
surprising not to see any specs on it's range in the documentation that's out.
I've not transplanted it to another case to test yet but perhaps I have some unresolved
power issues.
First off my case has a 230v A-100NT12 inside that I'm using the original owner's power
converter on. I thought I'd ask again since while Dieter offered a warning about electrical
danger on this group I still don't have an answer other than it's possible. I keep thinking
I'd be better off running on 115v.
If so then let me rephrase the question. Would I be better off trying to trade my 230v PSU
for a 115v one
I think I still need to trade or obtain a new fuse, right Since the 115v version uses a
different rated fuse, correct
Finally another factor is I'm using a 5V low cost adaptor, but the specs on that say it
delivers 100mA and I've also got an A-191. So what would be an answer. I guess I could
move my 5v modules to Analogue Solutions cases or would another low cost adaptor work
in the same case, say a in different row Or is 150mA within operating range
