I think the biggest question I'd ask is, "what kind of sounds do you
want to make "
Are you trying to put together a system that will provide a certain
sound, or do you want to get experimental Are you interested in
building your own modules or do you want everything to be pre-built
Do you want to stick to playing with a keyboard, or do you want to
have a self running system, with or without a sequencer
The biggest "issue" I've seen in the analog synth world is delivery
times - try to buy something from a store that has what you want in
stock, or you may have to wait quite some time.
