Hi Silas,
Very helpful thanks! I've heard some demos of the BBD module in use and had
decided that I would probably get one in the future, but now I'm thinking
why wait Looks like I've got plenty more research to do before I settle on
my first system, so thanks for all the pointers, I'll definitely be checking
 them out.
 Regards,
 Pete

Subject: Re: 1 First modular system
 Hi Pete,
If that's what you want you might want to consider getting rid of the Clock
Divider + Clock Sequencer, which would leave room for one more 8HP module.
Other modules to consider replacing are the ring mod (some people rarely or
never use those anyway), the S&H (same thing) and one of the mixers (the
VCA's have two inputs, and so may serve as mini-mixers). The space saved
could be used for other interesting modules - I'd probably go for a BBD or
Sampler/Wavetable OSC but other modules may be more interesting for you. If
you end up with 4HP left, consider getting an extra multiple - boring, but
handy, or maybe a VC switch
I'd replace both LFO's, one with an LFO2 and one with a VC-LFO. You may want
to replace the Low pass filter with one of the other filters in the A-100
 series.
You could also mix in some Analogue Solutions/Systems modules - I believe
the A. Solutions modules use the same power connector as the Doepfer
modules, so those would fit easily.
But in the end it all comes down to what you want - that's the cool thing
about modulars. (Besides the patchability, extensibility and general
 coolness factors ;)
 Hope this is helpful,
 Silas
