The third pin of the mains connection is the earth/shield and is connected
to the metal parts of the frame. In case of a fault no dangerous voltages
can appear at the metal parts of the frame. I stricly recommend to use only
mains cables and mains connections that support the earth/shield terminal !

You have to be experienced with electronics. We have a document available
(for experts only !) that describes how to modify the PSU1 and PSU2 for 230V
(or vice versa for 115V). You can ask for this document if you are an expert
or if you know a specialist who is able to carry out the modifications for

).
