hi dave,i am sad to say most of the people on this group do not
participate in the polls. the most important module to come out for
the A100 is the forthcoming Touch Keyboard Sequencer. there are 171
members in the group, i created a very thorough poll on the TKBS,
only 7 members decided to vote. thank you to the 7 people who voted.
how are Doepfer supposed a make a decision on a given feature or
module, when less than 5 % of the members actually care to vote.
i would like to see the A197 go into production for others and myself
to enjoy, as well as for the reasons below. so the onus is on us to
vote and speak out and do something about it. we are very lucky to
have a manufacturer that at least partially listening to us. you
should see the cries and pleas on the Yamaha rs7000 yahoo group for
them to have a version 2 upgrade to the rs7000. fat chance that will
ever happen, they don't even have a company rep on there to monitor
the group.
i mean lucky for us partially because it's almost been a month and
not a peep from doepfer about the Regelwerk or Schaltwerk. so i guess
since nobody's mentioned the cpu upgrade, it's back to the "I WILL
FORGET ABOUT IT" closet. i think Doepfer should get its priorities
straight and finish the TKBS and then address the gaping issue of the
Regelwerk and Schaltwerk, correct the the situation and garner some
much needed credit to its bruised image on these particular machines.
please don't think that it is not important to your company image and
its products. you will still keep selling the same amount of A100
systems as you have in the past. no one is not going to buy anA100
system because the filter of the month is going to be put aside for 1
or 2 months so you can fix and ameliorate a problem that needs an
immediate solution. the good part that will come out of this is that
people will actually want to buy and use the Regelwerk and Schaltwerk
because they are functioning and feature laden not choked up, which
in turn will probably help sell more A100 systems. again, this is a
friendly reminder that something should be done about the situation
and not a slant on Doepfer Musikelektronik.
by the way, my schaltwerk is v 1.30. what's up with the version 1.41
rom upgrade nothing was mentioned on the site. is it an upgrade and
what are the changes let's hope it fixes the sync problem.
regards,
RM
