I just picked up a USED A-112 and on arrival I noticed 2 things that troubled me...
One lead off the battery has corroded a bit and snapped from the battery terminal.
I replaced the lead and soldered it directly to the battery terminal. The battery reads 3.8V with no load.
Should I be concerned that there was corrosion on the battery lead, or is this common. The unit looks to be pretty old, and has alot of wear. Perhaps it was not properly stored at some point
A cap that was soldered to the backside of the unit has broken from one of it's connections. This had to have happened during packing as the bubble wrap was very tightly wrapped around the module. It appeared to have been connected across the pins of the "LP ON" jumper. I reconnected.
I just want to confirm that I have reconnected the cap in the correct position.
Thanx a heap!
Tony
