Hello group,
I'm at it again. My new 78-minute CD "Instead Melt Feedback in
Drip-Coffee Merger" is now available through CD Baby.

This collection of "music" extends my departure from traditional
approaches to cadence and form that I employed on my previous release
"Bum Crab Hatband." I rely even more heavily now on my mostly-
Doepfer modular, which I have expanded over the last months, than on
my previous release. One of my principal influences has to be the
work of the early pioneers of electronic music, Louis and Bebe
Barron, whose memorable score for the epic 1956 film _Forbidden
Planet_ opened the door to a new "terra incognita" of organized
sound. It is in that spirit which I operate over fifty years later,
a spirit which, as I interpret of it, combines the use of randomized
juxtapositions with very specific intentions of surprise and
destabilization, with the intent of causing a state of suspension of
expectations on the part of the listener which has proved to be a
fruitful mode for building new mental devices for the conquest of the
irrational.
In the spirit of discovery,
David Westling
