What for
Drum sounds in analogue drum machines are created by classic circuits
like resonant bandpass filters, oscillators and envelope controlled
(vulgo voltage controlled) amplifiers, some noise and again and again
resonant bandpass filters. All these are voltage controllable standard
modules in a modular system. There come only two special tasks to my
mind: The cymbal oscillator of the 808 (which is available at Doepfer),
and the coil based ring noise generators in 70ies drum machines. Only
the last one is missing in the world of modular synths. Everything els
is there.
