Sorry - I have no schematics for a voltage controlled capacitor and I think
it's not easy.
In older circuits indeed variable capacitors are used (open versions with
multiple discs that change the overlapping range while the tune knob is
operated). But in newer designs I have seen variable resistors as they can
be manufactured much cheaper (e.g. the TEMIC FM tuner 1890).
But please don't me ask details. That's not my field of knowledge.
