Thanks for taking the time to write your opinion on the modules I
asked about.
Both sound very interesting, thanks Kevin & duff!
To be honest I'll probably buy both now :-D
I've owned my A-100 since 1996 and still find new sounds while other
synths have come and gone. Once you own a modular synth its so hard
to use a pre-patched synth again, so boring!
It doesn't matter how many knobs they put on their synths if it's
not patchable it's no fun.
Even though I own a Nord Modular the Doepfer is still my favourite
by a LONG way.
I've finished my 3rd case and just starting building the 4th, so
many new modules I can't wait to own them!
I think one of the best modules is the A-192 (CV to MIDI), it brings
everything in the studio together and can make any synth sound good
(the bassstation can now have 3 lfo's, 3/4 envelopes....ahhh but
still has an aweful filter :-D
With the A-192 you can control any synths filter using doepfer
modules, and seq midi synths using the A-155. If you combine the A-
192 with an A-176 (control Voltage Source) you can control paramters
with knobs (such as digital synths, soundcards, Rebirth).
I'm also a big fan of the A-112 (sampler/wavetable osc), this can
make sounds like nothing else, soft evolving textures to hard beats.
I'd love to see an osc built around the commodore 64 sound chip!!
Thanks for your time.
