(Sorry for the cross post, but David uses a Doepfer/Eurorack system for this project.)
The next release from Rastascan, due at the end of July, is the double vinyl LP
from The New Black called "The White Album," featuring John Shiurba and Jeremy
Drake
(guitar), David Rothbaum (analog modular synth), and Gino Robair (motors, bows,
metal).
Recorded direct to disc January 21, 2008 in Los Angeles, these long-form
improvisations
explore timbre and
noise and span three album sides. Side D is comprised of about two dozen locked
grooves that were "sampled" in real-time by Richard Simpson, the mastering
engineer at
Infrasonic Studios. The double-LP is available in a limited edition of 200 on
black vinyl.
We're accepting pre-orders right now: $21 ppd in the US, and slightly more
everywhere else. (Much of the price is shipping cost, so bear with us.)
These discs will be available only from us directly, so if you're interested,
let us know before
they're snapped up. You can order it from here:
