just to play "devils advocate" - a compatible vu module is available from
both analog systems and analog solutions. a frequency counter is an easy 3rd
party buy, granted not in module format but possibly more useful as a
standalone anyway and could doepfer produce on that would be price
competitive the passive attenuating mults sound handy, though. nice for
those patches where you don`t want to use up a mixer module.
the main virtue i ascribe to the nintendo controller is as an interface that
lets you act as a "conductor" for autonomous patches. i sincerely believe
that it would allow one to use a different "vocabulary" of gestures to
interact with our synths. this may be a small market segment but represents a
fertile ground for development.
in another vein, a "company produced" module that is sorely lacking is a
simple switch module providing +5 gates, momentary contact or latching.
again, all of the above is IMHO and certainly open to discussion !
