the a129/3 would do both offset and attenuation.
the a156 can process positive voltages only, so
you probably have to add an offset voltage to the
output of the binary zone, since it can produce
negative voltages also. then you use the attenuator
to keep the voltage in the +10 volts range.
but this is only necessary if you use the maximum voltage
range of the binary zone. the binary zone has a range
switch, you can choose between -10/+10 volts, -5/+5 volts
and -2/+2 volts. when using the two smaller ranges
you would only need the offset function.
