Oh, and for clarity, the reason I have modular-lust is that I fell in
love with my timewArp2600 emulator (especially the sine-wave ring-mod
sounds), and realised that fiddling about with wires was far more
tactile and satisfying than altering virtual knobs on soft-synths.
That led me to an Andromeda A6, and find it's wonderful for pads and
big background sounds (does a lovely emulation of a CS80), but really
not all that hot on the ringy, weird overtone sounds I loved on the
Arp... and it lacks wires, or course. :-)
As you can imagine, the noisy, buzzy quality the A-110 seems to
exhibit isn't necessarily the sort of thing I'm going for. Sines -
while classically considered useless in subtractive synthesis - are
really the very best things to use in ring-mod if you're after
getting those 1950s sci-fi sounds (as I am). However, space is a
prime consideration for me. If anyone has any 110/111 + 114 (ring-
mod) samples, I'd be really grateful!
