The AME Synth doesn't hav to do anything with Doepfer.
The AME ("Aktionskreis Musik Elektronik"; former IME = Interessenkreis
Musik Elektronik) was a group, that was founded in the late seventies. It
was a very funny thing; on the one side very innovative Synth DIY on the
other side a very typical german bureaucracy (everyone had to have a member
number - Dieter was Number 10; I was number 64, then I quit and joined some
years later and became number 487. We had a little magazine, where we
discussed like here in the list. When we wrote names in the articles, the
"editor" of the magazine always replaced the names by the numbers...)
The AME still exists today (but it is very quiet; some of the guys switched
over to Rick Jansens synth-diy list). Some of the members decided in the
mid 90ies to develop an own modular synth. The first modules became
available on or two years after the first A100 modules.
So the synth in the picture never has seen the hand of Dieter.
