first, the list of open polls is not endless.
they are only 10 open polls at the moment. all these open polls are created by other group members and not me, so i just wanted to respect their freedom and allow these members to end their polls when they wanted to.
that's why i left them open, not due to bad moderation.

regarding the huge list of closed polls (dating back from 2001!) these do not get in the way at all, and i leave them there just for historical value. (they make a fun read.)

if i leave a poll open for only a week, i think that the number of voting members will be even lower. i think two weeks is a nice time frame. not too long and not too short.

i still believe that the low number of participants is the main reason for the limited usefulness of some polls.

(btw, to the members that have created the polls that are open at the moment: please close the ones that are open for more than a month.)
