First of all most of the Lindhof modules are based on Formant PCBs - some with minor modifications/improvements. For everybody not familiar: the Formant was a DIY-modular back in the late 70ies and was reborn in 2000 or 2001 as "Formant Pro" or "MSS 2000" ( www.helm-elektronik.de ).
Don´t know in how far it´s limited, but Dirk Lindhof - the owner - offered some ringmodulator DIY-kits on german Ebay a few months ago. Me and a friend of mine got one of them each. Easy to do and it sounds ok, different than the A-114 though based on the same chip.
The modules are same size as Doepfer, but most of them run with 15V - as did the Formant. Some accept 12V too, eg. the ringmodulator. The ADSR can also receive gate from A-100´s bus, just like A-140.
When I bought the ringmod, Dirk told me if I had a special idea or a wish for a module, he´ll see if it´s possible for him to develop it. The only modules available right now are a Moog-style VCF, an envelope follower and the ringmod. Those are prototypes, empty PCBs with description/ manual or just spare stuff.
for more information have a peep at: www.msc175.de/synth.html Just klick on the modules. The description "Die Schaltung stammt aus dem Formant Pro." means that the circuit was developed for the Formant Pro.
best,
Paul

Subject: 1 LINDHOF MODULAR
Anybody heard of the LINDHOF MODULAR
Its a new modular VERY limited, only a few modules been made for it.
I been offered the Resonator (comparable to the filter of the Korg
PS3300 synth or the triple resonator on the Polymoog, so I'm told)
Also a Voltage Controller Distortion/Waveform Clipper which is a
more harder version of the doepfer A-116.
Anyone heard or used these modules
Please let me know what you think as I can't hear them before I buy
them.
Thanks
John
