Check that the jumpers are in the same position, top and bottom row, especially 'J1', which looks as though if it is in the wrong position glide will always be on, irrespective of the control level at the glide input. And are you saying that glide is only active when it cycles round from 8 to 1, but is inactive between 1 & 2, 2 & 3 etc. (Which *would* be a bit odd if that were the case; but it is late here, I was just on the verge of turning in for the night...)
