Must agree. I'd avoid that 3U case like the plague. Waste of metal.
But I think the standard mini system configuration is an excellent
starting point. You could edit it, but it's really pretty carefully
chosen. I'd definitely take a ring mod over a sample & hold for a
system that size. The small system's much more about timbre than
control, and nothing will take you into bizarro world more easily than a
ring mod.
