upper pin = LFO1 out
lower pin = inverter input

left pin = socket labelled "LFO1" (via 1k protection resistor)

No. The lower pin of JP4 is not GND.

I'd recommend to take GND directly from the bus connector or from one of the
potentiometer cases (or the mounting flaps) near to the bus connector.

This should cause no problems.
