Credit card fraud is a huge cost for legitimate companies, and paypal's protection for sellers (outside of ebay) is non-existant.
Indeed, even within ebay, if the transaction is surcharged (which is legal under uk law) then, again, paypal withdraws any so-called
protection.
Paypal is, in my opinion, the biggest sham going. All they have to do is stick the word "Safe" on every single bit of
correspondance, and people believe them. Somewhere i even have an email saved from paypal saying that they couldnt recover funds,
and yet this email was still plastered with the word "Safe"!
Again, paypal offers no fraud protection outside of ebay. None. I would realy urge you to read the small print, not just the
misleading headlines.
I would be wary of pushing any retailer of your choice into using paypal as you personally (as a consumer) will end up footing the
bill for at least some of that fraudulent loss.
