Yeah, you're right. That would make for a very minimalist rhythm track. I
forgot to mention the Flame products. The Six-in-a-row looks particularly
good.

The Dark Time won't work well with the Vermona. He wants something
percussion related, not melody related.

Doepfer is developing a ,Dark Time' complement to the Dark Energy. If you
want knobs, this will be cheaper (and simpler) than the MAQ 16/3. If you
already have a Eurorack system there will be the A 157 trigger sequencer,
which might be just the ticket. Both products are scheduled for release in
the summer.
If knobs aren't necessary, check out the Signal Arts MAPS. Quite flexible
and available standalone and in Euro-format.
I used to have (and like) the Alesis MMT-8. These pop up on ebay all the
time and are quite cheap. Otherwise there are plenty of drummachines like
the Electribes, Rolands or Boss' that would do nicely and are also not
expensive.

Betreff: 1 HELP!!! MIDI Sequencer
Hi all!
I have a Vermona DRM1 drum machine which is controlled via external MIDI. I
use computer software to program the drums, but I want to buy a hardware
sequencer to do the job. I have no idea what to buy - I have seen many
products (future retro mobius, sequentix P3...) but they are all waaaay
overprice. I only want a simple 16 step sequencer to make sequences for the
different drum sounds.
I have seen the MAQ 16/3, but I actually have no idea if this would suit the
job. I have seen videos on youtube of it working with melodies, but I don't
know if I can do drums... Is it suitable Can anyone tell me what to buy
Thanks!
