My advice - as a long term modular user : don't spend the 8k at once on a monster base *and* a 9er *and* a 6er, and fill it out with modules...

Rather, start with a modest 6-case (perhaps even a Starter kit), and see if you like it. Like the sound, the way it works, etc...

That way, if it doesn't befit you, you're not going to lose too much (don't forget: used modules, even if brand-new, usually go for 75% of their new-price)...

Also, try to get your hands on an "East-coast" system too. A Buchla or Serge... and see if that would suit you more.
