Do yourself a favour, and don't start trying to fill a Monster case.

First tell us (as suggested before) what kind of music you want to make (or make), what [you think] your goal is in terms of timbre, rhythm, genre, etc...
A "classical" synth flow mostly goes like this :
- sound source (VCO, Noise) -> filter -> VCA -> out
- modulation sources (LFO, S/H, ENV) to shape the pitch, the timbre, and the loudness
- possibly also trigger/gate sources (Keyboard, Sequencer, etc)
But a modular system encourages you to step off that beaten path, and experiment. Though first you need to decide what your goals are (yeah, it's a recursive thing)...
