I suppose I was thinking of a delay with a tape loop (that's the only kind
of analog delay I'm familiar with), where it might be possible to change the
direction of the tape to the point of running backwards and where the length
of the recorded fragment can be controlled. Speed of the tape in this case
would determine the delay time as well the pitch of the recorded fragment.
But some of this might be nonsense.
