the a189-1 bit modifier in mode 4, 10 or 11 can be used
as a strange signal source by patching a feedback loop.
feed the output of the a189/1 into a multiple and
from there into the signal input of the a189/1.
make sure the a189/1 is in mode 4, 10 or 11.
other modes won't work that way, anyway nothing
will get damaged if you try.
take the audio from the multiple.
the sample rate knob now acts as pitch offset,
the sr cv input can be used as some kind of
pitch cv input (don't ask for vco accuracy here).
the bc knob and the bc cv input alter the sound.
it is a good starting point to set both bc and
sr knobs to noon. some settings will cause the
audio to disappear, but there are also some sweet spots.
in mode 10 and 11 i got almost vowel-like sounds.
best wishes
