Discovered I have a Google translate of the service manual, and notice that there were a number of odd problems with early issues of this module - certainly mine has a diode and two caps soldered onto the underside, which I think was its final configuration, so it might be interesting to know if yours have these mods too: a biggish cap, 10uF or 33uF or so, and a smaller one, 1nF or so - if one or other is missing, then it's possible I guess that the module may have spontaneously started exhibiting the problems they fix, but a slim chance I guess!
Also the IC next to the PA382/CEM3382 is better being a TL084 rather than a TL064.
Most of these things were to do with stability issues, and I have little feel for whether they could potentially stop it oscillating - again, it is really going to take hooking the unit up to a scope and poking around.
