Hi Jon,
I still use the A119 as well since the 35 doesn't do it all. I guess the 35 is ok but I have not tried to compare it with other pitch converters and for an anologue solution I thinks it's good but sometimes finnicky as the input needs to be 'unconfused' shall I say. Tracking seems ok; I will do a more scientific test when I get the chance and maybe pop it onto YouTube.
Bob williams sent me a huge patch that uses a VCF as a tracking filter for rhe 35 but I have not tried that yet. I think Bob has had lots of issues with blown up modules due to the divergent standards and technically 'variable' users (and why should a user have to be an electronics expert ) hence the warranty conditions. Sorry I was being a bit smug anyway as I have a decent adaptor which while not foolproof is easier to understand and use than some of the cable adaptors I've seen.
Cheers
Tony

Hi Tony,
Mostly I was just being snarky there, but I know over on Muffwiggler there have been many complaints about fried ASys modules in Doepfer racks, a complaint which I've not seen applied as often to any other manufacturer. Also, there's the caveat that using ASys modules with any other manufacturers' cases/power supplies voids the warranty.
I also don't like that the RS35 can not be used to input external audio for the purpose of further audio processing (no audio output); that it can ONLY be converted to CV. Seems like an easy bit of additional flexibility.
However, I don't know of any other Eurorack Pitch-CV converters; how does the tracking on the RS35
Cheers,
Jon

However, a compressor also squares off the envelope greatly, which makes it less like a guitar envelope. But my suggestion is that a Pitch-CV converter will likely always be imprecise, and that's OK by me.
