I understand the benefits of the multistage envelope and have DIY'd
something similar which is very useful.
It wasn't my intention to disregard the poll (I had already voted Yes) I
was just trying to emphasis that for most uses ADSR has more stages than
people really use and a simpler envelope would be most useful, in fact I
believe there was discussion for such a module in the past.
I too am a fan of the Rogue envelope, the nearest I have to that is the
BugBrand EG which has an AD/ASR switch ;)
Thank you for the explanation as well as it's always good to get a
fuller view of a proposed module.

If there should be a new envelope module, then it should be not reduced
to certain functions like attack or decay or what ever. So I subscribe
to Johns request for a multistage envelope.
There are several stages, basically with an slew time and a destination
voltage. The destination voltage of the last stage is the note-off
voltage. The destination voltages can have values between +10V and -10V.
StageX-Level: this is the voltage to where this stage changes to. The
last stage will have an additional switch to set this level to 0V
(=normal envelope).
StageX-Rate: this is the rate at which the StageX-Level will be reached.
There should be a switch for mid/fast/slow per stage.
StageX-LoopStart: this is an on/off switch. It determines the start of
the envelope loop
StageX-LoopEnd: this is an on/off switch. It determines the end of the
envelope loop
If StageX-LoopStart and StageX-LoopEnd are activated at the same stage,
then you have an normal Sustain.
If StageX-LoopStart and StageX-LoopEnd are activated at the different
stages, the Sustain phase will circulate through the corresponding
stages.
The big advantage of this kind of envelope: you can achieve negative and
positive modulations within the same envelope, and the amount still will
be controlled by a simple env amount potentiometer.

Me too. Mostly I am a big fan of the envelopes of the moog rogue. It has
Attack and Decay as parameters and can be switched between AD and ASR. I
made recently rougly a pcb in eagle for it:
