To add to the dimensions given - The portable doepfer cases are "carry on friendly" with all airlines I have done research on. They fit perfectly in the overhead bin. As long as you don't act like it is heavy (they are not) they will never ask to weigh them. I have four of them and a couple of outboard "boats" and it can become a very capable system. You will want to grow for sure, especially if you start to hang around on the Eurorack section of the Muff's Modular and More forum -

Now with at least 30-40 different makers of Eurorack format modules, there are many, many pieces to choose from.
