Objet : 1 Re: BOOKS About The art of Modular Synthesis
Marc-Henri,
I’ve recently read Allen Strange’s “Electronic Music” (mentioned by Alain) which is a fantastic book for modular synthesis – however, it is very expensive (in the US) to purchase. The ones I’ve seen are $80 and up. I got it from our public library, but they only let me keep it for a short time.
Another very good book is Jim Aikin’s “Power Tools for Synthesizer Programming”. Here is a link:
http://www.amazon.com/Power-Tools-Synthesizer-Programming-Reference/dp/0879307730/ref=sr_1_1 ie=UTF8&qid=1321814285&sr=8-1
It is not specific to modular, but contains a very in-depth look at all the major parts that synths contain.
Good luck,
Mike
Hi to everyone of the group,
I will very soon buy a Doepfer A100 system II.
I am looking for good books about modular synthsis, in english and french.
I have been on the Doepfer site and select some of those who are suggested, but I would like to know if you have more suggestions
Is there any translation of the book by Keld N. Sørensen: Modular synthesizers
And also of : Enrico Cosimi: Analog & Virtual Analog / Come funziona un sintetizzatore, supplemento alla rivista Chitarre
Do you know other books written in french and/or english using Doepfer examples as these ones
Thank you for your kind advise,
Friendly regards,
Marc-Henri Arfeux
