You have to try it out as it depends upon the module and the cable
parameters. Each cable forms also a capacitor and inductivity which is
connected to the output of the module in question. For short cables these
unwanted electrical parameters can be usually neglected. The longer the
cable becomes the higher are the capacitor and inductivity values. It
depends upon the output circuitry of the module in question if a problem may
occur. The typical problem if a high frequency noise that appears if the
capacitive and/or inductive load goes beyond and certain value.

If there is a USB socket at the front panel the function is described in the
user's manual or on the info page (e.g. A-190-3, A-198). If there is an
internal USB socket only (e.g. A-187-1) this is for internal use in the
factory only (e.g. for firmware upload during production). Please do not
connect these internal USB sockets.
