I have an A199 that I've been running with the included reverb tank just
coming out through a gap between modules.
Now I'm rearranging the case and the gap is gone, so I need to place the
tank more permanently.
:-)
I'm having the A199 module in the top row of the case, 2nd position from
far right.
two best location options for the tank seem to be:
1) back of the case, at 45ish degrees from parallel
2) under the front row.
Is one position likely to be better than other I noticed they're
torroidal transformers in the PSU so don't expect a lot of stray EM
field. Moving the tank around the back of the case where the
transformers are doesn't seem to induce any hum. The front row has great
access, but I'm worried about eating up too much depth.. I have a
makenoise rene I can put above the reverb tank, but
Other question is what is the best way to mount it I could go and buy
some short wood screws that are lon enough to go through the mounting
washers and into the wood, but not too long that they push through the
wood... other option is drill through the case and use countersunk
screws & nuts. I kinda like the idea of wood screws because I can just
move things about later without leaving big holes though the case, but
whatever I do has to be strong enough that I can lug the modular around
without bits coming loose and rolling about inside.....
Any advice I can muddle through this weekend and get it fixed in place
anyway but would prefer to know what the recommended placement and
method is if there is such a thing.
PS, I do have other reverb tanks sitting about and will probably have a
play with using them sometime.. so it's possible I may want to mount
something bigger in future as a replacement. that will be a problem for
the front row layout I'm in the process of doing.
