Hi Dieter, Florian and all guys again.
Finally i got all components to install the extra power inlet +switch in a G6 case so I can power the Mean Well +5v.
It will sound weird but (here in Lima) i got trouble trying to find an electrician that want's to do such a small job because they don't want to move through all this big city in order to charge just a little cash for such a small job (here electric works are cheap) . So , I have to do it myself.
I've got a dremel 3000 and can cut and drill small holes in aluminium with it.
I've added 7 new pictures to the album called: "installing Meanwell +5v switch in G6"
there I'm showing the kind of power inlet (IEC socket) + power switch all in one. It also has a fuse holder (empty).
So my concerns about making the right connections are:
-In picture with the red mark number 1, you see the power inlet (and a second showing front face as reference) and the Mean Well +5v connections side where you can see the L and N connectors in the AC input by the GND connector.
Logically I would say "I must connect the L and N respectively to the L and N in the Power inlet" , but, in the inlet's back the L side has a connector pin (two in fact) but the N side doesn't , it has only a little metal flat plate (please check picture red marked with number 6) There you'll see that the L side has two pins for connections but the N only has that flat plate.
How do i connect them to the Mean Well AC input
-In picture with a red mark number 3 + check that in those four connector pins , there are 4 numbers ( 1A, 2A, 3B, 4B ) does it mean something to be cautious when making connections What should I connect to these
-Check that (in red marked: picture 2) it says 10A 250v does it mean that i have tu put a 10A fuse in the fuse holder if not, which one please
- Where should I connect GND from the power inlet
EXCUSE MY IGNORANCE AGAIN AND HOPE YOU CAN GIVE ME SOME ADVICE.
HERE I INCLUDE SOME NOTES FROM OUR PREVIOUS MESSAGES FOR REFERENCE:
The Meanwell PSU is obviously a single PSU (i.e. one
> > voltage output only, not two like the A-100PSU2). In this case the -V output
> > of the Meanwell has to be connected to GND of the A-100 system. You may use
> > e.g. a free GND terminal at the bus board. The +V of the Meanwell (= +5V)
> > has to be connected to the unused +5V terminal of the A-100 bus board.
Hi Florian and Dieter
Thanks for the advice.
Dieter,
Florian also suggested in one message to power the Mean Well externally by
adding a second power connector / switch in the rear panel so I can wire the
Mean well to it.
What do you think about it I think it could be easier than doing all the fuses
deal.
Thanks
Ricardo
That's probably the best solution. I did not mention it because one has to
make a cutout at the rear panel that fits to the additional mains inlet.
Best wishes
