hi Ilja,
the midi clock is not very accurate when syncing the A100 with the Ableton Live.
it helps if you have to use the reset out of the A190, patched to the reset input of the A154+a155 too.
but, again, sometimes the A100 seems synced to midi and sometimes not.
(its a problem of the midi clock, not of the A190)
the best syncing you can get via two cv/gate to midi channels. ( i use the MCV24 for this) :
you create a pattern of 16th notes in a channel of Live and the note gate out from that midi channel, you send it to the clock input of your modular sequencer (A155 for example).
then you create a pattern with one note at its very beginning, in another midi channel and you send the note gate from that channel to the reset input of your sequencer. (you can arrange the 'clocking' notes and the 'resetting' note just as you like!) rock solid timing and plenty of crazy clocking and resetting possibilities too. works fine all the time.
(Ingo Zobel gave me that simple and great tip, many years ago...)
thanks,
Bakis.

Subject: 1 Re: Can the A-100 and Ableton Live play nice
Hi there
since you got the topic, maybe you'd know the answer to my problem
i use live 8 with a100 through a190 and i actually don't get how the clock of a190 work. it runs wild and out of sync (tryed to divide it with a160 - still out of sync). i do send my sync messages from live. want that clock, so i could run sequenser using live's timing.
am i being too silly and not understanding something obvious
Ilja
