In this blog post, I show and describe how to do the mods.  The mod adds a socket through which the Env Out or Env.Follower Out is routed, so that an external signal (LFO, Sequencer, Min/Max, Random, etc) can be inserted here instead.  The VC Decay and Envelope Follower functions can still be used, and the comparator function can be applied to that external source.  Handy if you don't have a dedicated comparator, or need the VC Decay and Follower for other signals in your patch.
