Indeed there was about one year ago a batch of sockets which had a lower
insertion force. The problem is that there is no specification about the
insertion force and the manufacturer mentioned that everything is within the
limits. But the electrical connections should be fine even if the insertion
force is smaller compared to older modules. In July 2013 we instructed our
assembly company to take some samples from each batch of the sockets and to
refuse the batch if the insertion force is clearly smaller compared to the
former sockets.
