Hi Rich,
Not Doepfer but look out for the Analogue Solutions SQ8 which is a great sequencer that should meet your needs

Subject:
1 Alternatives to A-155 for trigger/gate sequencing
I'm interested to hear how I can sequence (up to) 8 triggers/gates without using an A-155 sequencer. The standard response would be to use an A-160/161 combo, feeding the selected outputs of the A-161 that you want to use to an A-186-1 gate combiner. The only problem with this is that the 186-1 only has 7 inputs rather than 8 and ideally I'd like to use something with switches rather than pulling cables in and out. I'm looking for 100% Doepfer, non-DIY suggestions. Oh, and the hopefully-soon-to-be-released A-157-1/2/3 combo is too big and 8x overkill! I guess I could use two A-186-1 modules after the A-161, but can you think of a module combination that uses switches
