Please refer to page 3 of the user's manual (fig. 1): there is no gap. You
have to AND the output with the clock signal to obtain pulses. The
pulsewidth of the clock then defines the width of the pulses. Instead of
this you may also use an A-162 that is triggered by the clock signal to
define the pulse width.
