Here's the same setup at 1kHz:

Still no processing!

Thanks for the try out and for the file.
My question was more what happens when you go over 250Hz (250 is the roughly the limit for the maths). If you increase the frequency of the sine towards 1k and above, does it turn into a triangular waveform.I’ll record an example tomorrow with a math to demonstrate.

Here's a link to a Flac file I recorded. It's the sine output from an a145 lfo around 250Hz.
First 10 seconds is just that. After the short break the A145 is processed by the A171-2.
All knobs set to zero, in exponential setting and cycle is switched off (of course!).
I don't see or hear any processing going on...
all the best,
Ernst

I will test it later today. I have an a171-2 and a scope here..

Thanks for the link.
Unfortunately, this topic is not really addressed. They mention the triangular LFO shape but that’s it.There’s no mention of signal modification in “kind of by pass” mode.

Dig into this topic at Muffwiggler, it will most likely answer all your questions:

You mean the A171-2 I presume

Hello,
I’ve tested a make noise math and any waveform above 200/300Hz get transformed to something more “triangular” even with both slew parameters set to 0 (very obvious with a sine).
I’ve got a A-170 and it’s definitely not the case: what goes in, come out unmodified if the slew is at 0. That’s what I like about it.
So does the 170-2 have the same behaviour as the maths (modifying the incoming signal)
Is it the same type of circuitry that will lead to this behaviour
Thanks.
