I don't own a Grid, but I think the problem is, that the Grids expects
a reset when the clock is stopped.
In the end you were on the right track, when you pressed the reset
button, while the clock was stopped, but you did not remove the yellow
cable which additionally caused a reset while the clock was running again.
If I am right then the correct handling is like this:
* press stop in Cubase and reset Cubase to zero
* connect clock out of the A-190-8 with clock in of the Grid
* press reset on the Grid
* press start in Cubase
I am not sure, but maybe it would work too if you connect the A-190-8
stop-output with the Grids reset-input. Should be worth the test.
