Hi All,
I'm new to modular synths and got my first Doepfer system last week. I have a very basic newbie question I hope someone can clarify for me. Forgive me if I don't explain this very well but it will try to be as clear as possible.
I have A-100 Basic System 2, and so far I have a managed to get a good handle on all the modules, thanks to various youtube videos and tutorials.
The question I have is related to generating a single note (via midi keyboard or ableton) rather than continuous oscillation of the A-110. I use my midi keyboard (or ableton via USB) with the A-190-4. My understanding is the A-190-4 is hardwired via the system bus to my two A-110 oscillators, and so when I press a key on the midi keyboard the midi signal is translated to a CV signal and sent to the oscillators. This is all working great - I can play the keyboard and control pitch of the A-110 oscillators. My issue is when I stop playing on the keyboard, the last note played continues to oscillate on the A-110.
Do you know if it is possible, maybe through the use of envelope generators or a setting on the A-190, that no sound comes from the A-110 oscillators unless a key is pressed on the midi keyboard and when the key is released no sound is generated I.e. the oscillator is only triggered when a key is pressed and when not pressed it is not generating a tone (like a hardwired synth with an integrated keyboard).
I hope this question makes sense.
Thanks in advance,Colum
